Terms & Conditions

Powered Heating — reactive work, boiler services, breakdowns, bathroom installations and swimming pool boiler work.

1. General

These terms apply to work carried out by Powered Heating. Any quotation, booking confirmation or written scope forms part of the agreement. Nothing in these terms affects a customer’s statutory rights.

2. Rates and payment

Standard weekday rates are £120 for the first hour and £60 per additional hour, Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm. Parts, materials, parking, specialist equipment and third-party costs are additional unless included in a written quotation. Payment is required in full on completion of each job unless agreed otherwise in writing.

3. Reactive call-outs

The first-hour charge covers attendance, diagnosis and labour during that hour, but not parts or materials. A call-out does not guarantee that a fault can be repaired during the first visit. Additional work will be discussed before continuing where reasonably possible.

4. Quotations and larger works

Boiler installations, bathroom installations, swimming pool boiler installations and other larger works require a written quotation following a survey or site visit. Quotations are based on visible and reasonably foreseeable conditions. Hidden defects, unsuitable existing services or additional requested work may result in a revised price.

5. Boiler servicing and breakdowns

A boiler service covers inspection and checks appropriate to the appliance and the agreed service scope. It is not a guarantee against future failure. Breakdown visits involve diagnosis and reasonable attempts to repair, but additional parts, specialist support or return visits may be required. Unsafe appliances may be isolated or classified in accordance with applicable gas-safety procedures.

6. Swimming pool gas boilers

Swimming pool boiler servicing, breakdown work and installations are undertaken only where the appliance and installation fall within Powered Heating’s competence and current qualifications, including HWB1 where applicable. Pool chemistry, water quality, circulation, ventilation, flue arrangements and existing controls may affect performance and are not guaranteed unless specifically included in the scope. Manufacturer requirements and commissioning conditions must be met before warranties can be relied upon.

7. Bathroom installations

Bathroom quotations are based on the agreed specification. Changes after work begins, unforeseen structural defects, concealed services, water damage, asbestos concerns or unsuitable substrates may require additional work and cost. Decorative finishes and products supplied by the customer are subject to availability, suitability and manufacturer conditions.

8. Parts, materials and customer-supplied items

Manufacturer warranties apply to products where available and subject to their conditions. Powered Heating is not responsible for defects in customer-supplied products or delays caused by incorrect, damaged or missing items. Labour involved in removing or replacing a defective customer-supplied item may be chargeable.

9. Workmanship and warranty

Work will be carried out with reasonable care and skill. Any workmanship concern must be reported promptly and reasonable access provided for inspection and, where appropriate, rectification. Warranty does not cover unrelated faults, misuse, third-party alterations, poor existing system condition, freezing, scale, sludge, water-quality issues or failure to follow maintenance requirements.

10. Access and safety

The customer must provide safe access, suitable parking information, working utilities and a clear work area. Powered Heating may stop or postpone work where conditions are unsafe or where hazardous materials are suspected.

11. Cancellation and urgent work

Cancellation rights may apply depending on how and where the contract was agreed. Where a customer requests urgent work to begin during a cancellation period, they may be required to confirm that request and may be charged for work completed up to cancellation.

12. Liability

Powered Heating is not responsible for pre-existing defects, consequential damage caused by an existing failure, or matters outside reasonable control. Nothing excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

13. Complaints

Please contact Powered Heating promptly at poweredheating@gmail.com or 01727 620176 so that any concern can be investigated.
